The invention of clothing for kids

Clothing

Lice
Body lice

African people probably invented clothing somewhere between 500,000 and 100,000 years ago. There isn't actually any clothing left from so long ago. We think this because genetics shows that's about when body lice evolved from head lice, and body lice can only live in warm cozy places, like under clothing.

The earliest clothing was probably furs and leather from animals that people had hunted and killed, or from animals that people had found already dead.
