Geology Teacher's Guide - the geological eras, plate tectonics, types of rocks, and more

Geology Teacher's Guide

Teacher

Kidipede's geology section begins with the Hadean Era and continues through the geologic eras to the Quaternary. There's also an explanation of plate tectonics, some discussion of volcanoes and earthquakes, and a unit on the different kinds of rocks.

Kidipede's focus is on understanding how and when the different rocks and geological formations came into being. We draw examples not only from North America but from all over the planet, to give a sense of the diversity of Earth's formations and also the idea that ordinary things like erosion and granite exist in India and Africa as well as in the United States.
