Materials Scavenger Hunt
Find things made of different kinds of metal, or wood, or cloth, or clay (other choices - ivory? cement? marble? limestone? leather?) Do we use these things for the same things that people used them for in the ancient world? Which things are more expensive than they used to be? Which things are less expensive? Which are more common? Which are more rare?
Some suggestions for materials to look for, and where you might find them:

*I am including brass in bronze, because there is hardly any bronze
anymore.
**You might have to go to a fabric store to see linen and silk cloth.
